I have a general question. I have family who live in Aurora. Is it possible to attend the Convention, but
stay with family members. I would of course pay my regular fees for attending, except for lodging.

Robert, absolutely. As attendees are responsible for their own lodging, this is just fine!
I’m new to the Bus History Association. I’m researching the history of bus planning, bus service and ridership (particularly in California). Would the convention discuss these topics, or would it just be oriented to vehicles ?
Many members work with or have worked with those elements of the industry and would be happy to discuss their experiences during the convention. Depending on which properties are willing to host the BHA, we may have the opportunity to meet local staff, as well.
