Hi- Just to let you know I am publishing a book on the “History of Buses in Allegany County, Maryland”. It begins in 1912 and covers public buses and school buses in this county. During its productive years and during WW II there were at least 10 different bus companies that served this community in particular Cumberland. Allegany County used to be a large thriving area of Western Maryland but after the major manufactures left it and has remained in a depression and all we are left with is county run mini-buses. I think the book is different as it focuses on the hx and impact of buses on a community. There are many comments and stories from locals. thanks Andrew 301-268-2603.
